Wishmaster4isapoorrelationtotheoriginal.Ihavenotseen2or3,andjusthappenedtoseethisontheSci-FiChannel.Itwasanentertainingmovie,mostlybecausethestar,JamesTrucco(Verdel)hassuchanuncannysimilaritytoSCOTTPETERSON,theaccusedkillerofhiswifeandbabyfetus.SeeingthatguyplayaDemonicroleinW4madeitseemmoreweirdthanitreallywas.Themake-uponthemainDjinn(JohnNovak)wasalmostcomical.HelookslikeHERMANMUNSTER'slong-lostson.Healsodoesnotlookveryhorrifying.Underthemake-up,NovaklookslikehegothisactinglessonswatchingCREATUREFEATURE.W4isrelativelyfast-paced,butithasveryfewscaresandnotmuchthatisscary.Intheoriginal,allofthehorribleactionsoftheDjinncametotheattentionofthefemalelead,TaraSpencer-Nairn,andshesufferedalotatthehandsoftheDjinn.Inthismove,theDjinnistrappedbythe3rdwish,andhemustseduceTarasoshewillaccepthimasheis.Sadly,thebestscene,wheretheDjinnismakinglovetoTara,iswhereheshouldhavetransformedintoDjinnanditwouldhavebeenveryterrifying.However,thatscenetookplacewithVerdelasDjinn,andTaradidnotevenregistermuchshockordisgustlaterwhenshediscoveredthatshehadmadelovertoademon.Partofthesubplothastodowithherhandicappedboyfriend,andthatentiresubplotisnotverypositive,sincetheboyfriendisgiventheuseofhislegs.Overall,W4isnotverycomplicated,itiskind-ofasillymovie,andwhilethereissomegore,itisnotverygory.W4isagoodtime-killer,butitisnotaclassicHorrormovieunlessyouareafanoftheMysteryScienceTheatre.
