Sucksdorffwrote,directed,edited,andproducedhisfirstfeature-lengthfilm,Detstoraaventyret(1953"TheGreatAdventure"),thestoryoflifeonaSwedishfarm,usingnoprofessionalactors.Itfurtherenhancedhisreputation,asdidsuchlaterfeaturesasEndjungelsaga(1957"TheFluteandtheArrow"),Pojkenitradet(1961"TheBoyintheTree"),andMitthemarCopacabana(1965"MyHomeIsCopacabana").
