WhatIfoundmoststrikinginthismovieisthatitdoesnotportraytheheroinemerelyasa"wrongedwoman"butasawomanwithdeeppsychologicalproblems--tomeshefrequentlyappearedtobedownrightpsychotic.Thereareseveralscenesofunbridled,ImightsayX-rated,violenceinwhichPhoolanisseentograduallywindupfromangertoviciousness.Inoneofthesescenesshebeatsherformerhusbandwithariflebutt.Itwas--andIthinkitwasmeanttobe--sickening.
